Player should wait till data is available. There were som eissues around this fixed recently, I am not sure if they only affect player 2.1. Could you try player 2.0.5 and see if any of the fixes in there help this issue? If you are able to update to player 2.1 this could fix some issues, it will take a little work but is mostly stable now.
