I checked it out again and now it compiles without problems, this was what was causing gazebo's compilation to crash. now everything compiles without problems. But I'm still not able to run gazebo, after adjusting the paths inside a world file e.g. factory.world (btw. opengl.world and ogre.world are not in the repository anymore) all I get is:

$wxgazebo factory.world
starting server
waiting for server

server died
stopping server

a window appears for a second and then closes. If I try wxgazebo -d 9 factory.world it doesn't bring any extra information.
In older .world files, there was an rendering-method option (SGI,GLX,etc.), is this deprecated now?

I've just checked out fresh Player from CVS and it's working fine.
Your local copy must be somewhat broken, perhaps some files are
missing. The only thing I can recommend to try is checking it out
again.
