Thanks Toby!

I used the [stage folder]/worlds/bitmaps/rink.png file as the circular body for the object. I have got the solutions as below in my .world file:

position (
  name "circular"
  size [ 10.0 10.0 ]      # width and height
  pose [ 0 0 0 ]
color "green"          # will only color the black outline of bitmap file
bitmap "rink.png"     # loads a bitmap for the model's body

  # velocity [ 0 0 0 ]
  obstacle_return 0
  laser_return 0
  ranger_return 0
  gripper_return 0
  fiducial_return 0

gui_movemask 0        # to 'stick it' onto the map (immovable)
gui_outline 0         # remove black outline of the object
  gui_nose 0
  gui_grid 0
)

Thank you..

you can set laser_return, obstacle_return and so on to 0 in your world file to have objects not interact with robots. You can also set a pixmap as the model for an object if you want allowing more complex shapes to be defined easily. Have a look at everything.world for examples.

Hi!

I have two questions:

1. How could I generate a map with a region drawn, BUT it is not
avoided by the robots (something like an X-marks the spot thing)? I
found one message thread similar on this (seems like this is not
possible):

http://www.nabble.com/Obstacles-td4883796.html#a4883796

Are there any way to have such a map? Do I need to use the
FiducialProxy and control the robots behaviour inside the
control/client program (which is quite tedious, keeping in mind that I
just only want to mark a particular region for viewing purposes)?

2. Related to the question above, are there any way that I can draw a
circular region/object (something like by just stating the center,
radius and color)? I have done this in my .world file, are there any
extension/parameter that I can use to get a circular object? :

model
(
 size [5.0 5.0]
 color "green"
 pose [0 0 0]
)

Thank you for any help on these questions. Thanks.

Kind regards,
-syah-
