It would be nice to be able to query a robot as to its
capabilities. For example via its PositionProxy to
determine the robot's drive capabilities (i.e.does it
have omni_drive mode)?

Support for simple capabilities checking is now in CVS,
currently most drivers will deny all capabilities but these
can be updated as needed, the basic infrastructure is there.
