Just a small thing really regarding documentation, that did cost me some minutes of web search however. And such things are rather discouraging for new users, who will all fall in the same trap.
Following the quick start guide on http://playerstage.sourceforge.net/doc/Gazebo-manual-0.8.0-pre1-html under the section "Working with Player (optional)", it says one should run:
$ gazebo /usr/local/share/gazebo/worlds/pioneer2dx.world
$ player /usr/local/share/player/config/gazebo.cfg
However that gazebo.cfg file is outdated and leads to the following error:
error : Couldn't find driver "gz_sim"
error : failed to parse config file /usr/local/share/player/config/gazebo.cfg driver blocks
A correct one can be found e.g. (on my system)
