Grouped

Grouped analysis tool

Overview

The Grouped analysis tool allows aggregation of area and concentration data from a layout in a double-entry table and calculation of some associated statistics, notbaly the average and standard deviation (SD).
This tool can be explored using the DRC, DRC2, DRC3 anf Grouping examples. See the [Examples] page.

Grouped analysis tool - Menu
The tool loads the layout and result files from PlateEditor and exposes the available result plates (1) in its menu panel, together with options to select the rows and columns of data to display in the double-entry table (2).
Result and definition plates can be browsed using the plate selection control (1a/1b).
Pairing information for the selected result plate is indicated. Browsing result plate will automatically set the definition plates to their correct values, if defined. Changing the definition plate manually will refresh the pairing information, indicating any broken link with the current result plate. For more details about [Pairing], see the corresponding page.
Click the Select Data button to select the data to use in the double-entry table (2a). A new dialog will open, listing available data on the right and the selected data on the left. Data can be dragged from left to right and reorganized as desired (See below for more details).

Aggregation
Data aggregation can be tuned using the related control (2b), allowing selection of different aggregation format:
- Avg, SD, N (default): in this mode, the average value, SD and total number of value are exposed in three successive columns
- Average: in this mode, only the average value is shown
- Column: all values are stacked in a single column
- Row: all values are exposed on successive columns, on the same row

Row/Column selection form
Grouped analysis tool - Row/Column selection form
Areas, ranges and concentration data will be exposed for selection in the left panel of the selection form (1).
Categories can be expanded on click and the desired data selected by drag-and-dropping to the drop areas on the right (2), using either the Rows (2a) or Columns (2b) areas. Two levels of grouping are possible, but the second level is only accessible after the first level is occupied (as in 2a).
Selected data can be unselected by drag-and-dropping them to the trash area (2c), moving them back to the left panel.
Press OK when done to register your choices (2d).

Grouped analysis tool - Main Panel
In the main panel, parameters associated with the selected result file will be available for browsing (1) and preceded by the result index (#) from the result table. Parameters from other files are locked but the computed data are kept in cache.
For each parameter, the desired double-entry table is computed in the Values tab (2), the only tab available for this tool. Each table has a set of controls for data export (2a):
- Export: click to download the table as a text (tab-separated) file.
- Printable version: click to display the table in a new browser window/tab, which facilitates copy/print operations

Note: CV (%) statistical data can also be displayed by ticking the corresponding option, see [Analysis].

Specific details

Export all
When exporting all the data using the Export All option (see [Analysis]), only values for the selected result plate will be exported.
The zip file provided will have the following structure:

Result_File\Parameter_Name\Values.txt
(only one file per sub-folder)
