How To Manage Project Risks

During the project life cycle, several undesired events came up, causing difficulties or situations out of control.

The Plandora tool contains a Risk Management module that helps the project management to monitor the risks of projects.

In the most of the project management methodologies the risk management consists in general:

  1. Identify the risk

  2. Classify and determine the consequences of risk

  3. Identify ways to reduce the risk

The Risk Management of Plandora contains a form where the risks occurrences can be stored and also, the impact, probability and tendency can be measured.

Each risk has a status, that can be used to specify the level of Risk life-cicle. If a risk eventually reach the status "materialized", the tool suggest the creation of a issue occurrence to solve the problem that just happened. Plandora will create a link between the risk and the issue in order to keep the traceability for further searches.

At Plandora, the traceability is done through the "relationship" box of each entity form (risk, task, occurrence, etc) and can be displayed through a Mind Map form.

According to the status changing, and the risk information improvement , the tool indexes automatically the content into the knowledge base. It is very usefull to the future projects and managers, improve the lessons learned about the project. The knowlegde base of Plandora consists of a form with google-like search that can show historical information about the tasks, requirements, risks and occurrences of all projects.
