I'm trying your program with a Nokia 6600 and a Bluetooth GPS Holux device, which is simply not detected. I read carefully all documentation, and discovered in "PlaceLab Phone Stumbler HOWTO" the following row: a Bluetooth inquiry is done to find any Bluetooth devices advertising a string with the name |GPS" This is absolutely the wrong way to detect a GPS device. My device reports itself as "HOLUX GR-230" which does NOT contain the "GPS" string. I think this is a bug, please fix it, ie searching for SPP and trying to read from. Best regards, Andrea | |

This was more an experimental effort to help out people in a hurry rather than an actual feature. You can always get your gps to work by just assigning it a virtual serial port in windows and then using that with Placelab Stumbler. However, if you'd like to make the fix to the bluetooth gps detection stuff, you can send it to me and I'll test it out and check it in to the repository for you. It shouldn't be too difficult. Doh! I should work on my reading comprehension. You need this to work on a phone. In that case, the only thing to do is to fix it. I'll bug Tim about it for you.
