I'm sorry, it's been a while since I've used this stuff. I've been
writing too much commercial software...You don't have to pass a list
of strings, you should pass as many strings that you want to wait for,
or none at all, which returns the next incoming message:

Make sure you have started your own server instance (otherwise use
scsynth.start) for use with scosc.Controller. You also might want to
try passing verbose=True to the contructor of Controller.
