Try to uninstall the pkfed package: Component | Install Packages | ... | Remove then delete all sources from your disk, restart your computer, download the sources from CVS again and try the recommended sequence again. I know this is a stupid advice but I cannot reproduce your problems. Hello all, I have just updated slightly the sources in CVS, please update your local copies and tell me if you experience any troubles building the component pack and the application. What was done: - resolved references to non-existent packages VCL2 and PKUTILS - removed *.RES files (so Delphi will re-create them, after asking for confirmation) - removed other generated files and also some redundant, unused files - tagged version successfully compiled under Delphi 5 with branch tag "D5" - ported to Delphi 6 Now the installation of codebase should be simple: 1. open the comps.src/fedcomps.dpk project 2. confirm creation of fedcomps.res 3. build it (1 warning will appear) 4. install it (will install 3 components) 5. open the src/pkfed.bpg file 6. confirm creation of all the .res files 7. Project | Rebuild All 8. run it I saw (in the D6 version) that there is a bug - if you create a new font, it will appear with editable area smaller than it should be. If you find where the problem is and how to solve it, please send me the fixed file, I will appreciate it a lot. Also, any other bugfixes are welcome :-) Regards Petr PS.: Kim, I hope you will have no more troubles with compilation... |

just a quick answer, I don't have much time currently: First, please send your questions to the mailing list that I recently established pkf...@li... instead of directly to me (I will receive it anyway, don't worry). You will have much better chance of getting an answer from more people, and sharing info about problems is also good for them. To do that, just put the list address into CC field, just like I did in this mail; or when answering, press "Reply All" instead of just "Reply"... ok the training is over :-) > **P.S > This is the third attempt for me to send you this mail > too...the mail I sent was returned. Perhaps there be some > trouble in sending the mail... look here, this reflects your mailing software settings: From: <da...@so...>; "Kim" <saf...@ha...> no mystery, this must definitely confuse the mail delivery system. Please change it so that there is something like : Kim <saf...@ha...> i.e. no second email address and especially no semicolon !!! Test it by sending a message back to yourself. Please do not send me more mails before you achieve this state; it takes time to hack answers for you. Hello Kim, First, please be very careful what you put into "reply-to" setting of your mailing client. I have answered you immediately, but received only error responses because mail servers rejected my answer for bad address. This is my third attempt to answer you. -------------------------- > The error message I got is this.. > >>> Required packages 'fedcomps' not found. first of all you have to open the file comps.src/fedcomps.dpk with delphi as a project. It is a set of packages required for loading the main project. You have to BUILD and INSTALL it. Now you should succeed to open the main project, src/pkfed.bpg. Compile it using Project | Rebuild All Projects in Delphi menu. (This should also rebuild all modules) > And, two forms(fontED_f, ToolBx_f) has errors on loading. > (it seems that it can't load the class....) > what should I do??? Please give me help how I should solve > the problem. this is the consequence, should be resolved by above steps > >From next week, I am on the work for the first time. If I > can't solve this trouble or can't analyze this source.... > I must be dismissed... > > As you see, I'm poor at English. But, I try to get help > from you. Won't you help me, please? I will help you as much as I can. May I ask you for something in turn ? When you successfully build the project, please write a simple README.txt file with description on how to successfully build the source tree... don't worry about English, I will correct it (although mine is also not perfect :-) If you decide to continue in developing the sources, I would be very hapy if you could deliver them to me so that I can put it up to the CVS server... or, later, I can grant you access to the repository so that you can commit there yourself. > hmmmm...My Delphi Version is 6.0 Enterprise. > Is there Somewhat trouble between Delphi 5.0 and Delphi 6.0? I am really not sure if there will be any problems with D6, the last port I did there was for D5 and didn't touch it for a long time yet... and currently I do not have much time to spend on pkfed, so I cannot promise very extensive support. So, if you successfully build and run under D6, please send me the changed sources (or patches, if you are familliar with patching). > I downloaded all the sources from sourceforge.net, CVS > Repository and placed those at the same directory that of > the CVS Repository. And I try to Run the project...but I'm > on the trouble I stated above. Don't hesitate to ask me if your troubles continue. Regards, Petr |
