    Hi:

I installed pjbexploder 1.41.  However, it scans and does not find my PJB100, which is a 20gb model.  When I run the Jukebox program that came with the player, it does find and manage the unit, so I seem to have it installed ok in WinXP.  Any suggestions?  I did try the link to the firmware update above, but I received an error message page not found.  Thanks.  BTW, I will become a donor if this thing works.  I have a couple hundred CDs on it and gave away all the CDs.  I don't have room for them.  Sure hate to lose my favorite music.  I want to copy the music files to my PC in case I ever need to load them onto an iPod or something.

What version of Jukebox Manager are you running?
pjbExploder requires JBM version 1.5.6 to be installed before it can talk to your PJB.

After I posted this inquiry, I managed to get the 1.5.6 and 233 software and firmware updates done.  It's a little tricky.  And I got exploder installed.  Finally it recognized my PJB100 40gb and the list of music.  I am now about to try to copy the files to my hard drive (which has tons of space).  Then I'm going to get an iPod and copy them to it, to make sure everything works.  I am SO thrilled to find this program.  Would you happen to know anything about the donation process?  Do they go into a pool or to the programmer or are there choices?  I assume they have a secure credit card site?

Donations - I would suggest donating to SF.NET directly - there should be a link at the top of the page.

If you are transitioning to an iPod, there's a 'secret' option you may set that will make it easier to organize your music.  Ordinarily, tracks copied to your computer have a filename that is the same as the track-name.  You can have pjbExploder add (prepend, actually) the track number to the file name, so they will sort in the same order as on the PJB.

To do this, run RegEdit, and navigate to:

      HKCU\Software\pjbExploder\

and add a DWORD value called 'PrependTrackNum'.  Give it any value other than zero.

Now tracks will be named like "01_blah blah blah.mp3", rather than "blah blah blah.mp3".

        Thanks for the donor info.

I have 16 of 18 hours left to copy to my hard drive.  Exploder is working great.  (I'd have a couple fewer hours to load if I hadn't plugged the a/c adapter into the microphone jack and run the battery down this afternoon.)  Next I'll be FORCED to go out and have fun shopping for another iPod (my first one is full of books on CD).  Then I'm going to put my brother's music CDs on this PJB100 20GB for him.

I can explain why I don't need to prepend the track nos.  I loaded many of the 200 or so CDs over a couple weekends, so I never typed the track names.  Thus they're already named with track nos.  I usually listen while I'm bicycling here in the AZ desert, so I don't see the screen anyway.

        Thanks for the help.
