Is there a way to apply a texture in Pixie ?
To apply a texture, you typically write a shader and use the "texture" shading language command.
There are some shaders that come with Pixie that do this. You can take a look at paintedmatte.sl or paintedplastic.sl. BTW: You can use these shaders as well:
Surface "paintedmatte" "texname" "mytexture.tif"

I've been digging the net with no luck.
I keep getting a black mesh with no texture..
Can you point me to a rib as example ?
Of course I changed texture name and used gimp for the image , but no luck either with paintedmatte.
Ok I managed to do it ,
Surface "paintedplastic" "Ks" 0.0 "texturename" "gogh.cypress-star.tif"
from a bmrt related site.

Anyone explaining how to apply uv ?
I see the model has texture coordinates but the texture map doesn't correspond ..
