I'm trying to use a tiff texture made with the Gimp: everything is fine if I use the plain tif, but
when I try to use texmake

    texmake pattern.tif pattern.tx

I get a message from texmake

TIFF: LZW compression is not available to due to Unisys patent enforcement

and during the render I get an incorrect rendering (black tiles, distorted tiles) and the following messages:

0: Invalid tile byte count, tile 1830camera_dofa.rib (81): 0: Invalid tile byte count, tile 1829camera_dofa.rib (81): 0: Invalid tile byte count, tile 466camera_dofa.rib (81): 0: Invalid tile byte count, tile 1894camera_dofa.rib (81): 0: Invalid tile byte count, tile 1893camera_dofa.rib (81): 0: Invalid tile byte count, tile 1957camera_dofa.rib (81): 0: Invalid tile byte count, tile 1958camera_dofa.rib (81): 0:

Could you please point to me what I am doing wrong?

    Thanks a lot,

      Hi Roberto,

You should upgrade your libtiff.  The LZW patent has expired, and by default we use LZW for texture compression.

If you compiled your own Pixie, you can tweak the compression setting in

      src/ri/texmake.cpp

all of them are listed there.

      Cheers

      George
