Pixie and Liquid: rndr problem

Hello, I've just started using Liquid Maya with Pixie. I've never used Renderman before so I have no experience with it. I have Liquid version 2.3.1 and Pixie version 2.2.4, with Maya 2008 Extension 2. I load the liquid.mll in the plugin manager in Maya, go to my Render settings, select Liquid as my renderer, and choose Pixie as my preset. Under the Displays tab I have "framebuffer" under Display Driver.

A RIB is written out when I choose to Render under the Liquid menu on the toolbar at the top. If I hit the "Render the Current Frame" icon, the render window will pop up, and after about 20 seconds, it will output the error message: "// Error: [liqMayaRenderView] timeout reached, display driver didn't respond in time. Aborting". The render view is completely blank. Is this the right workflow? There wasn't a lot of documentation of the workflow that I could find.

Also, I read around that I should be able to go to C:\Program Files\Pixie\bin and open/render my RIB files using "rndr.exe", but everytime I try to open rndr.exe, I get the error: "This application has failed to start because the application configuration is incorrect. Reinstalling the application may fix this problem." I tried through the command prompt but I had no luck there either.

Any help and tips would be greatly appreciated. Thank you very much!!
