I noticed that in the last two releases 1.4.4 and 1.4.5 that the OS/X binaries are no longer provided.

Is there a reason?

  1.4.4 and 1.4.5 are mostly Windows maintainance releases. I did upload (after a little delay) 1.4.4 for OSX, but we removed 1.4.4 because there were issues with it not starting up on Windows due to libtiff incompatibilities.
  
  Pixie 1.4.5 is up for OSX this morning. Sorry for the delay, I've been pretty busy. That's the only reason - and is why 1.4.3 is still available until now.
