Piwigo 2.1.0 brings many new features

Hi Piwigo followers,

Piwigo team is proud to announce release 2.1.0. The complete release notes is available on http://piwigo.org/releases/2.1.0 with details and many screenshots!

Piwigo 2.1 introduces major improvements. We have been working to improve user experience, at administration level mainly. Photos are easier to upload, themes are easier to install, administration is easier to read (if you hate dark backgrounds), administration menu was reorganized, plugins are easier to manage, tags are easier to add and create, photos are easier to sort, features are easier to activate/deactivate.... read more

Early news about 2.1

Hi Piwigo fans,

2.0 is now 1 year old.

2.1 is under preparation and expected for the beginning of April 2010 (1 month from now). It will include features like:

* SQLite/PostgreSQL support,
* a new generation upload form,
* a theme manager,
* the ability to switch on a white background administration panel,
* drag & drop to sort your photos,
* and other nice features.

end of support for Piwigo 1.7

Since February 15th 2010, 1 year after release 2.0.0, releases 1.7.x are not supported anymore, it's really time to upgrade now.

Piwigo 2.0.9 was released

Hi Piwigo followers,

Release 2.0.9 is available. What do we have today? New language, minor features were added and bugs were fixed. Let's summarize :-)

* Em Ku has translated Piwigo in Vietnamese (Việt)

* improvements on remote sites: generate thumbnails, compatibility with WAMP server

* improvements on photos added by pLoader: ability to configure the upload directory, keep the original filename, ability to check uniqueness on filename (instead of md5sum)... read more
