This might just be a dependency configuration issue, but I can't use
certain codes to render projects, among them x264, shroendinger, and
dirac. The UI gives me the option of using them, but the render stage
always hangs. The application is still responsive, and I can cancel the
rendering, but it will never begin (or complete).
I have the following gstreamer plugins installed:
xoloki@xocotl:~$ aptitude search gstreamer | grep plugin | grep -v '^p'
i gstreamer0.10-alsa - GStreamer plugin for ALSA
i A gstreamer0.10-ffmpeg - FFmpeg plugin for GStreamer
i A gstreamer0.10-nice - ICE library (GStreamer plugin)
i gstreamer0.10-plugins-bad - GStreamer plugins from the "bad"
i gstreamer0.10-plugins-bad-multi - GStreamer plugins from the "bad"
i gstreamer0.10-plugins-base - GStreamer plugins from the "base"
i gstreamer0.10-plugins-base-apps - GStreamer helper programs from the
v gstreamer0.10-plugins-farsight -
i gstreamer0.10-plugins-good - GStreamer plugins from the "good"
i A gstreamer0.10-plugins-ugly - GStreamer plugins from the "ugly"
i gstreamer0.10-plugins-ugly-mult - GStreamer plugins from the "ugly"
i A gstreamer0.10-pulseaudio - GStreamer plugin for PulseAudio
i gstreamer0.10-x - GStreamer plugins for X11 and
I do have x264 installed:
xoloki@xocotl:~$ aptitude search x264
i A libx264-85 -
x264 video coding library
i libx264-dev -
development files for libx264
i x264 -

Does anyone have any ideas?
