Increasing volume: A possible Bug: Resend

Sorry, I accidentally hit Send before I was finished typing:
 
Hi all,
 
Am I doing the correct thing here? If I change the volume of a sound to "volume = 3", the volume does not increase. If I set it to 0.5, however, it does decrease.
Does anyone know why this is?
