I've made some adjustments and am now able to compile and run with different environments (+ fixed a memory access error).
As I don't have commit rights to this repo: do you prefer a .patch, just posting the diff, or commit the change to the gc-contrib repo?

Additional suggestion: make the default pipEdit.cfg only use relative paths instead of your home directory.

Commit the change to the gc-contrib repro, i'll update this one here later then.

Agreed with the cfg file, thats annoying how it is right now.
