    Hi there!

    I'm having some dificults in creating screens.
    I need to define the variable fields, but when I push "/" at a blanck line in the way to appear the square of the definitions, a black square is printed but I can't see what is in there.
    If I try to modify an existing screen, and push "/" in a existing variable field, the square is printed and I can change the definitions.
    Is this a bug or I'm doing something wrong?

    Thank you,
    Pedro

    Pedro,

    PIP is an approach to tailor the original PROFILE until the bare DATA-QWIK remains. Unfortunately, somebody dropped more of the stuff than it was necessary in some parts…

    You will have multiple not so straightforward problems, not just this one you're encountering today. And even if you're decided to hack it by yourself, you will need to know the original PROFILE to understand what's missing and how to replace it or how to become independent on that missing component.

    Especially the issue of missing MBAR definitions (I guess that's the problem you have) is not a big deal, but you need know how the definition looks like, which one you're missing, and how to reconstruct it.

    So from my point of view, you have three options:
    (1) give up and find another platform for your project;
    (2) ask FIS to offer you a (paid) support and/or all the missing parts (I guess the will offer you all-or-nothing PROFILE services);
    (3) find someone non-FIS who will support you and your project more closely to what you really want and need.

    Of course, if you're interested in the last option, my company (www.idea.cz, www.mumps.cz) would do some consulting for you as well as we can provide you a highly patched and customized PIP fork with a stack of many optional extensions that even FIS does not have! ;-)

    Regards,
    Tom

    Try using PIP V0.1 which is fully independent and nicely instructed in a README.txt file

    Is that same issue in PIP 0.1 ?

    I tried 0.1 and it is really good way to start, and FIS really does nice job on it.

    Thanks
