Pinky-Tagger version 2.1-0 released now.

Pinky-Tagger is a music file tag editor with MusicBrainz support written in C++ for Linux.
With version 2.1, a new album tag mode was introduced. Pinky-Tagger is now able to analyze a set of unsorted files, makes an album suggestion, assign your files to the album and tag them. For the track assignments, Pinky-Tagger uses all information it can get and not even the MusicBrainz fingerprint. So Pinky-Tagger can assign tracks without a MusicBrainz fingerprint with a very high hitting precision!
Other new features are:
* Drag&Drop
* Mark directories as tagges, partial tagged, files missing for better album management
* Offline tagging mode... read more

Pinkytagger 0.3.0 beta released!

After a lot of testing in alpha state, Pinkytagger is now switching to beta state.

Changes in 0.3.0:
- Ogg Vorbis support
- Bugfixes:
* Crash in covermanager
* Albumtagger did not popup in some cases.
* Performance optimizing.
* Several refactorings inside.

Pinkytagger is for editing and mass tagging music file tags. Pinkytagger uses the Musicbrainz (c) service to find tags automatically. To do so, Pinkytagger generates fingerprints (TRM-Hashes) of your files and compares them with the data from a Musicbrainz server.
As an extra feature, Pinkytagger can tag complete albums, even if some fingerprints from your files are unknown to the Musicbrainz server. For that, Pinkytagger uses several algorithms like fault-tolerant string comparison, length comparison and so on.
As another benefit, Pinkytagger can find and download album covers if you wish. Pinkytagger has of cause the ability to mass rename and tag your files like you know from other tag programs.
