Hello, from a Belgium user (Ronny) with a problem. First of all, Pilot-db is a fantastic program. The best I have ever had on a handheld. I' am using it daily on my Palm LifeDrive for my financial information (markets) and for my wine tasting activity (hobby). The possibility of presentation of the data is great. Recently I had a "Fatal exception" error when putting an extra line in to the db. My Palm is resetting itself. I had the impression he couldn't calculate the data. I have two years of data lines (477 lines / 60 columns) in my financial db, with a lot of calculated fields. Most of the non calculated fields where originally put in with DB-Editor (coming from excel) at the start (fourteen days ago). The program worked perfectly for over two weeks (more than 10 inputs). There have been no changes in the structure of the db. What can be the problem ? The file is 238KB big. I have enough disk space 3,6 GB (98%) and 44,5 MB (68%) of available memory. Is there a limit of data or space in Pilot-db ? Is my Palm the limit ? I tried several times with a copy of the db and got the same error over again at the same line of data. Even a line just with a date (without data) is enough for a fatal error. I want to set up more db's with financial data. They will be smaller. So, I' am asking myself, is there a difference of data coming from excel over DB-editor and data put in directly in Pilot-db ? Are there (other) things that I must take in consideration ? Is there a product that is better suitable for financial data ? I don't like working with excel on my palm. Who can help me with this ? By the way, there are no problems with my wine-db. Its working perfectly. I want to thank everybody who is willing to help me to sort out my problem. Greats, Ronny ron...@my... |
