I apologize if this post appears twice. I attempted to send earlier in the day, but it has not appeared in the list at the web site. Just now I found the way to subscribe to this list. I may be rushing the process but I'm most anxious to get help in using Pilot-DB. Obviously I'm a novice at the whole process. Anyway here is copy of what I sent earlier. I downloaded and installed Pilot-DB on Desktop and on Treo 650 Cingular (unlocked). I duplicated ContactsDB-PAdd as "DB". The with HotSync I backed up the Treo. Now I cannot open the "DB" file. I have installed DB-Editor and can't open there either. Here is the scenario: On Treo, in Pilot DB I select ContactsDB-PAdd, the select Duplicate, enter name for database, Type "DB" and hit OK. I get a file which FileZ identifies as "Type DB00" and "Creator DBOS". The perform Hotsync. Then I open DBEditor and attempt to import the file which I find in Backup. At first the error was to the effect that there was an error and DBEditor needed to close, then stuff about losing work in progress. In Event Viewer I found "Faulting application pdb2csv.exe, Version 0.0.0.0. faulting module msvcrt.dll, version 7.0.2600.1106c fault address 0x0003381c". Next I reinstalled DBEditor and at this point the file still won't open, but at the bottom is "C:\Program Files\DB-Editor\temp\Contacts_FULL.csv:Error while opening." I can't find anything in the manual for DB-Editor. Is what I have done so far correct?? If not, what should I have done? If it was right, what does this error mean and what can I do to open the file? |
