[pilot-db-list] Calculated fields with linked values or cast to float

Hi there,

I recently came across PilotDB and actually I am quite fond of it.
However, I came across one problem: I would like to use the content of a
"linked" field in a script. Sadly, DB simply does tell me that the
fields were of the wrong argument type for multiplication.

I've noticed the feature request on source-forge and would like to give
it a "bump". Is there any way to speed up development (aside from coding
which I really am not good at)? Or is there a clever workaround?
