[pilot-db-list] How do I make a database default to read only?

I have a few databases which I want to only be able to read from, because
I am trying to develop a device for a novice user to use, and I do not
want them to be able to delete any of the entries inside. I also want to
be able to add to this same database, or perhaps make the seperate
database to store the new entries?

Is this possible? And if so, how?

I'm using the current cvs version.
