That is if I have a field "Salesperson" and the first time somebody enters "Cheryl T." can "Cheryl T." be offered in a list pull down as an option in the next record along with the option to enter something new? No. You can use "list" field type for that. Not as comfortable as you'd like (as it's in e.g. many spreadsheets), but usually good enough. > > Is there a way to have a field which takes on the date or time that the record was created or optionally updated? Not that I know of. I thought about it, and it's probably not hard to do. I would like to know if anyone has any other idea. What I thought of for now is to do it on a PC - that is, every day connect the palm to a PC and run there a program that will scan the DB and set the wanted field to that day's date for each record it's empty (or some other such logic). That's also not easily doable now, if you need things that palm-db-tools do not support. -- Didi |
