... all but hardcore hackers read the docs.
And they knew how to help themselves.
Today even crunch eaters ignore the docs.

Maybe it's time to remove the executable
of the example plugin from the distribution?

Or make it pop up it's own screen that says
how to avoid the popup?

I think you should remove it!
It's less hassle.
