[pilot-db-list] How do I get pilot-db to work again?

Trying to be a good community member, I've been attempting to test out pilot-db
as new betas become available.  At some point in the last couple of beta
releases I now find myself in a situation where DB no longer works - at all.
Each attempt to start it either crashes the palm altogether, or, if I do
accidentally get into the application, it crashes the Palm Vx I use shortly
after.

I noticed a Hack listed as DB2 in my system, so I tried to delete that - 
and that crashed the Palm as well.

Is there progress being made towards DB returning to being a pretty
stable application?
