My apologies if I've missed the answers to these somewhere . . . I just downloaded DB 0.3.3 and now that it has the list type - YAY!!! - I'm just about ready to dump JFile demo and be able to use more than one database (the limitation of JFile's demo). But I've run into some questions about list behavior: (And please, let me know if there's some place this has been documented that I missed, so I don't have to bother the whole list about it!) - When I sort on that field, it sorts in the order of the list, rather than alphabetically. Is this planned? Actually, this would be great, except for as indicated by my next question: - As far as I can see, there's no way to change the order of a list once it's created - I see how to add or delete items, but added items go to the end of the list. So items are in the list in the order they're put in, not the order in which I want them. And I can't see how to move existing items around in the list. Am I missing something? (Thanks to the previous post here on how to add/delete items to an existing list - I couldn't figure that out without those instructions.) - Similarly, is there a way to change an item in the list (e.g. change list item "Ann" to "Anne"), without deleting the old entry and adding the new one (in which case, all the records with that item change to "N/A" and you have to go modifying each one again). I realize that List type is in its infancy in DB, and there are bound to be things to work out - just want to know if these have already been thought of/taken care of, or will/might be in future versions! And THANKS for adding the list type, which esp. with the limits of Graffiti makes this SO MUCH more usable. (And BTW, I'm using a "hand-me-down" Palm Pilot Pro so the Palm OS 2 compatibility is greatly appreciated.) Anne |
