Hans, I maybe this bug is just in the mobiledb part?  I don't know.  I am
sending you my latest build, including my most recent merges with marc's
code.  It is somewhere past both of the versions you are using.  It
doesn't seem to crash on your test case, but it is does not have plugins.

(Note that calculated fields from old databases might not work!,
  create a /new/ test database. )
