[pilot-db-list] French accents in DB...

Greetings...

I want to input a bunch of french book titles into a DB database using
pam-db-tools on a Unix box.
Can someone point me to some documentation or explain to me how I do
that without losing all the accents?  Do I just need to set the LANG
environment variable?
