[pilot-db-list] adding field links

I need the ability to link fields between tables. I
have an idea on how to do that, but need to know a
little bit about tha basic structure of DB and where
in the code I need to modify in order to get the
links.
Basically, I would like to add a field type 'link'
that would refer to a field in another table. where in
the source do I find the code for field type
definitions etc.

Or, can anyone do this?
