If more buttons are needed, then by using icons more space can be found for
buttons.
Also it enhances the useability of the application, and possibly the effort
needed to translate to other languages.

I agree that it is a good idea to keep the prc file as
small as possible. If increasing it's size adds to the
functionality that is fine, but simply adding icons
doesn't do much to add to the functionality.
