Hello PocketGear Content Partners!

* Initiated merging the Handango and PocketGear/Mobile2Day Developer Extranets by migrating Android content to developer.handango.com.
* In August, Android applications up 38% from June.

* Close to launching both Dell’s Web and WAP storefronts and already accepting Android applications into their catalog.
* Myxer’s Web and WAP storefronts are LIVE which has a worldwide offering. Myxer sells apps on ALL OS’s. Check it out for yourself here: http://apps.myxer.com/appstore/index.html
Symbian^3 at PocketGear - We are now accepting uploads for the latest Symbian OS - Symbian^3. To submit Symbian^3-Apps just select Symbian and the
Symbian^3. A growing number of Nokia N8 users - Nokia's latest High-End device - for example are waiting to buy your applications. Go straight to your account to upload now: developer account. If you already offer Symbian apps please login into your PocketGear developer account and check the compatibility with your exist apps.
At the start of Q3, we shared our vision as we moved into the second half of 2010, “To facilitate an open app store ecosystem that supports every mobile device, every application, and every carrier network globally.” In an effort to support that vision we called upon you, the developer community, to develop and upload Android content. As a result August brought a 38% increase of Android applications from June. Great work! In Q4 we hope to increase the Android distribution even more, and we want your content! Upload your applications and keep 80% of net receipts for sales.
PocketGear's open app store marketplace supports every open mobile operating system
including JAVA APPS. Our strategy and focus is to go after more channel partnership deals, which support all smartphone platforms including but not limited to Java Apps as 60-70% of phones worldwide are Java. Please make sure to upload your Java Apps so your content will be included in these powered-by channels.
As we roll into Q4, we continue to work towards merging the developer portals for Handango and PocketGear. As we begin this process, we want to hear from YOU. Here is what we would like to know:
* If non-existent, what features would you like to see in the developer portal?
* What features do you love about developer.handango.com or developers.pocketgear.com?
* What have you seen elsewhere that you would like to incorporate?
We would like to improve the Developer Store Engines (previously HCEs) as well, and we want to hear YOUR thoughts.
* If non-existent, what features would you like to see in the developer store engine (DSE)?
* What features do you
love about the DSE?
* What have you seen elsewhere that you would like to incorporate?
Last but not least we would appreciate some insight into your product roadmap:
* Product Road Map for Q4. As we look to look to facilitate a global open app store ecosystem, we can only do this if we work together to distribute your content through marketing initiatives, international initiatives, and channel initiatives. To do this we need to know what is coming with respect to upgrades, new products, and ports.
* Around products we would like to also find out what products are fully localized that we have right now or if you have some upcoming products that will soon be localized. As we mentioned above, we are looking to get some increased visibility as well as exposure for your products on an international level if you have products which support as such.
* How are things going for you? We want to know what issues you are experiencing as you partner with us. Are there any
obstacles we can help you overcome or questions you need answered?
We look forward to your feedback at par...@ha...! As always, the PocketGear Developer Relations team is here to assist you in any way possible. Should you have any questions, comments, concerns, or interests in further fostering a successful partnership we would love to hear from you! Let’s all finish 2010 strong! Have a great quarter!
