Dear PocketGear Developer Partner,

We hope this message finds you well and looking forward to the holidays. In the next few days, PocketGear will launch a new unified website for developers to register, upload, update, and market apps in our catalog and across our growing channels of distribution – http://developers.pocketgear.com.

There is some important information we need to share with you, so please read this email carefully and feel free to contact either Matt Stein (ma...@po...) or Daniel Schuetz (dan...@po...) with any questions. We think the new PocketGear Developer Portal will greatly simplify your experience of working with PocketGear and make it much faster to get your apps to market.

1) New unified PocketGear Developer Portal launching at http://developers.pocketgear.com

We are about to launch a new unified website for all PocketGear developer partners to manage apps in all PocketGear-powered application
storefronts.  The new unified developer website will be http://developers.pocketgear.com.  Please bookmark this link since we will no longer be using the old developer websites and only using http://developers.pocketgear.com moving forward. As a PocketGear Developer Partner, shortly you will be able to easily manage and market your entire catalog of apps from one central source, instead of 4-5 sources previously.

We have merged all developer data from the existing PocketGear developer submission interfaces (classic.pocketgear.com, PalmGear.com, Smartphone.net and Mobile2Day) into the new http://developers.pocketgear.com website, so when you access this system your PocketGear app catalog will already be setup in the system.  Moving forward, all of your apps on all PocketGear stores will be managed from the http://developers.pocketgear.com site.

This new developer website is a big step forward, making it easier for developers to maintain their app catalog on PocketGear, and positions
us well to add new features and functions that will help you make more money from your applications.  Some of the advantages developers will have in developers.pocketgear.com over the old system will be faster uploads of your new and updated apps, multi-language support, consolidated app management, reduced time to market for new and updated apps, exposure for your apps in PocketGear’s growing distribution network as well as many other improvements. 

2) No access to update or upload apps from 12/11/2009 - 12/18/2009 

We will require some minimal down time to import all of the current developer data and application data into http://developers.pocketgear.com.  There will be no access to your apps in the classic.pocketgear.com, PalmGear.com, Smartphone.net developer areas beginning 12/11/2009 through 12/18/2009.  We apologize for the temporary inconvenience and appreciate your patience while we finalize this new developer portal. 

3) Changes for developers using HTTP Post 

For
those developers using our HTTP Post system, please note that there will be new originating IP addresses from where we send the HTTP Posts once we launch the new http://developers.pocketgear.com.  Developers utilizing HTTP Post fulfillment for apps should update the range of IP addresses allowed by your scripts as soon as possible to ensure that orders continue to be fulfilled in real time by our servers. 

The new ranges of IP Addresses to allow HTTP Post requests from are: 

85.158.182.0 - 85.158.182.127 and 77.75.248.0 - 77.75.248.31 

The entire PocketGear team is excited for the launch of http://developers.pocketgear.com. This central site to manage all of your apps will reduce the time required to manage and market your catalog and provides a solid platform which we can improve upon in the future.
