Someone already told me you could do the same thing by prepending the country code as a subdomain to the url. like http://de.insider.msg.yahoo.com/ycontent/ I believe. I have a whole list of them. Odd that there's two different ways to do this. Well then again, this is yahoo we're talking about. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- You can respond by visiting: https://sourceforge.net/tracker/?func=detail&atid=300235&aid=941731&group_id=235 |

I've asked #gaim to re-open, and I'll investigate. I don't like the hard-coding of the "de". There must be a 'nice' way of doing this, and will spend today pondering how, without adding yet another account preference. My immediate thought is a dropdown in the account editor for 'Locality' or similar which appends the intl. This patch would suggest the Locality doesn't need to be prepended to the URL as the FAQ would suggest. I need to test this a bit. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: D. I tried to remove locale from the URL, have a COUNTRY_LOCALE preference, and calculate from that. This was wildly successful on many of Y!'s chatrooms, except for .de. So I've basically come back to where the submitter started. I can re-generate patches for current oldstatus and head, however the FAQ *MUST* be updated for release when the patch is applied and the release occurs. The URL does not require the locale string, except for .de (is the only one I found so far). I'll make sure I check all the other URL combinations before release, and note them here for the FAQ update. Oh, I just realised, I can't attach patches here. I'll open up a new patch tracker entry (1210242), and refer back to this one for details. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: Gary Kramlich (amc_grim) Date: 2005-05-28 11:23 Message: Logged In: YES user_id=646554 [20:17] Bleeter if someone could re-close 941731, it'd be appreciated :-) [20:17] Bleeter apologies for all the inconvenience, but I've got this largely nutted out now ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: Bleeter Yaluser (bleeter) Date: 2005-05-27 12:45 Message: Logged In: YES user_id=407708 Doubtful, but worthy of thought.
