[Gaim-i18n] translation of /plugins/log_reader

Hello,
When I was updating my translation I found that in /plugins/log_reader there
are names of other Instatnt Messaging programes and they are marked for
translation. There is Fire, Adium, Trillian. 
Those names shouldn't be translated, so I suggest to remove gettext functions
from here, to make sure no one accidentally translates it.

and another thing.
In
#: ../src/gtkconv.c:364
we have msgid: "me is using Gaim v%s."
If someone translates first word ("me") from this, then 
/devug version
command will not work - at least in jabber conferences. 
So it may be good, to put warning for translators, or split this string into
translatable, and non-translatable parts.

This string, like the debug logs, should not be translatable at all.

Are you sure those programs' names are not translated in themselves as
well?  I know that people generally have differing ideas on this, and=20
making them translatable satisfies both worlds (i.e. those who don't
want to translate them just copy them over).

For Serbian, most of them would be at least transcribed to Cyrillic
(one would not lose any of the meaning, yet they would be readable to
everyone).

I thought of this. I did some checking, and I don't see them translated
anywhere on their respective sites. The text around the names is
translated, but not the names.

I don't really know much about languages, especially not Serbian.... Is
this a problem? I can add the translation markers back if you need them.

It's not a huge deal at the moment, since the plugin isn't compiled by
default, but if I manage to find the time to work on it again, it will
be once it's cleaned up a bit.

It's not a big problem.  It's pretty much similar for all
non-Latin-script based languages: there are different opinions among
translators themselves.  I've been a witness of some arguments about
the same stuff on gnome-cyr list (Russian GNOME translation list).
It's about what is more important: advertising a foreign product as
foreign, or advertising it as what it does.  And there are sometimes
puns in the name which are best translated if translator is aware of
them (think of "[Netscape] Navigator", "[Internet] Explorer",
"Konqueror", "Galeon", perhaps even "Epiphany"?).

For instance, all of the translators (three of us so far) who worked
on Gaim Serbian translations seem to support transcription at least
("Trillian" in "Trillian Encryption" is transcribed as "=D0=A2=D1=80=D0=B8=
=D0=BB=D0=B8=D1=98=D0=B0=D0=BD").

However, some names of the programs are simply impossible to leave
untranslated (imagine things like "Best Instant Messenger" or "Gnome
System Tools" :).

Hi,

Most of GNOME Persian translators prefer to transcribe names as much as
possible. Our language is written in Arabic script which looks much
different from Latin script and is right-to-left. It looks much more
nicer when names are transcribed.

It's no big deal :) but it would be really better if they are
translatable.

Given the differences in opinion, I've marked these for translation
again. That way the individual translators can make the decision.
