I'm guessing that the most likely cause is a software firewall that is doing something bad. -D |

I think the reply should have been to the list. Forwarding. At this time, I have no idea of where the problem lies. Have you got a firewall in your router/adsl modem/wireless router? Stephen ---------- Forwarded message ---------- From: James Seltzer <jam...@ya...> Date: Mar 5, 2007 2:48 PM Subject: Re: [Gaim-devel] Fwd: GAIM 2.0 Beta 6 To: Stephen Eilert <spe...@gm...> We have been using GAIM for almost 2 years now and all of a sudden a month or so ago we started to get this error message. Nothing on the computer has changed. I am the administrator on the computer so my kids can not make any changes. I even double checked last night and I have never had a firewall installed on the computer and the MS system firewall is not enabled either. Any other suggestions? My kids really want this back and I do not want to have to go to AOL since it screws up the computer so bad. Its local to your PC and an generic error so the component (winsock) didn't know what went wrong. Most likely is that the winsock component is corrupt and needs fixing, since you are the only person currently experiencing this issue.
