[Gaim-devel] Centered Buddy List

Has anyone else noticed that the buddy list always pops up in the center
of the screen?  I have the 'save window size/position' option and the
'display buddy list near applet' option both turned on (but have
experimented with alternatives) but it always
pops up in the middle... unless.. I click the applet (oh, I use
gaim_applet btw :) ) to bring up the buddy list, move it to just above
the applet icon, then click the applet icon to hide the buddy list, then
click the applet icon again to bring it back up.  After that, the buddy
list appears in the center but more to the right of the screen.  I can
keep clicking on the applet icon and the windows disappears and
reappears just to the right of the center until I move the mouse away
from the applet icon and back again, then clicking again makes the buddy
list move back to the center of the screen.

I have no idea what is going on :)  The position seems to be getting
saved sometimes, but then ignored/broken.

yes, this should be fixed as of a few hours ago.

having save postion and display near applet both selected almost always 
conflicts, but then most people don't leave gaim near the applet when they 
select both.

if you are using cvs, please update and let me know if it is still broken.

Ehhm, the applet and the 'display near applet' options are gone from
CVS, so it's highly unlikely he is. I may be able to do a version of my
fix for gtk1-stable, but it seems to lack the ability to set the
'gravity' of a window, which controls the position from which the
window manager reports the co-ordinates when moving and resizing. This
was essential to stop the blist from creeping downwards and to the right
with repeated redisplaying (with my window manager anyway).

Oh well, I have been playing with many things trying to get the buddy
list box to pop up where I want it to, but failed.  I was trying to find
a way to set the window placement method in gtk (because that is all
that seems to be wrong) but there doesnt seem to be any
(GTK_WIN_POS_NONE looked the most correct, but didnt work).
I just get around it by playing with the sawfish matched windows
option.  Anything with the Name ^Gaim - Buddy List$ is set to place
mode: none, and it now works fine
