[Gaim-devel] RedHat NULL Beta and CVS (NO APPLET)

hello,

I just got the CVS tar version (GAIM 0.60) and I don't seem to have the applet
part of it. I'm using RedHat Null Beta (GNOME 2) and I followed the directions
on the web page on how to build the CVS. It works, but no applet.

Any info?

You must invoke the --enable-panel when you do the ./configure.

Actually, I dont think there is a panel applet yet for gaim 0.6.  I
didn't find one anyway :) and configure.in has no mention of any panel
options.

the --enable-panel option does work for gaim 0.59.x though.

The applet is dead, replaced with a docklet.  Docklets are a *much*
better conceptual concept, as they will operate with both Gnome2 and
KDE, and hopefully in the future any new up-and-coming desktops.

The docklet is a plugin, rather than a part of gaim core.  It is in
CVS with gaim.  You will need either gnome2 cvs or a patched KDE, see
the FAQ for details.
