Thanks to hard work by Luke, we now have a server up which will host pidgin.im! There's nothing interesting running on it yet, and the DNS records aren't pointing to it yet, but if you're able to me or Luke on IM, drop us a message and we'll make you an account. I think we're pretty solid on most of the software we'll be running on there. There was still a bit of discussion about bug tracking and version control. It seems like svn/trac is the path of least resistance, and I'm in favor of it. Anyone want to object strongly? -s. |

I object strongly to svn, but we already made that mistake, so we might as well stick with it until we switch to monotone. ;-) Ethan -- The laws that forbid the carrying of arms are laws [that have no remedy for evils]. I need to look up how to set it up as a server. postfix is configured, but spf records and reverse dns are not set up yet. mailman is entirely unconfigured, and ejabberd is only partly configured, plus I need to put jabber.pidgin.im in place. Sean set up some accounts yesterday evening/night. DNS records are in place, but Ethan at least is having trouble still. I'll try to debug that this evening if it is still an issue then. I do not have any sort of ssl set up, not knowing what to do for the cert. I'm in the process of configuring imap for those who don't want to check mail locally with mutt. luke |

I don't think anyone who has used a good VCS says anything different about subversion. While most of my monotone pokes are in jest, I honestly think that it is within an epsilon of being suitable for Gaim development, at least by the core developers (perhaps using a subversion repository via tailor for anonymous pulls by users who have no intention of doing serious development, as many users won't be familiar with monotone), and within the next few months I would like to entertain a serious discussion about migration to monotone. Currently it is set up to only allow RO access through apache2 at: http://pidgin.im/svn/ For RW access, it can be accessed using the svn+ssh:// method: svn+ssh://pidgin.im/home/var/subversion/pidgin/ I haven' t yet done anything with Trac or ViewVC, and all the post-commit hooks for CIA and email notification are disabled. -D |
