Luke, if it'd be at all helpful for you, I'd be happy to make you an  
account on Adium trac.  We've got a Waiting On Libgaim milestone  
that's a place we throw Gaim bug reports / crashes (on good days,  
with a link to the Gaim support tracker) which would make a fine real- 
world sandbox if you're so inclined.
