The problem with it is that it can be very easy to have no clue whom you're talking to when the feature is turned on. I'm seanegn on AIM and se...@ja... on Jabber. Perhaps you have both aliased to "Sean Egan." Now you double click "Sean Egan" on your buddy list and open up a conversation. You accidentally change the "Send message as:" menu.
