This is an old subject.

1) Gaim does NOT stand for anything anymore, except Gaim's An Instant
   Messenger, or Gaim's An Immediate Messenger, but that's unofficial.

2) It's not GAIM. It's gaim or Gaim.

3) People know the Gaim name. Changing it wouldn't be a great idea.

4) Guim sounds so ugly. I'd be forced to fork GUIM and name it Gaim.

5) I don't think we need a name change to get more users. We have a
   LOT of people who use this software, and we're about to have a lot
   more, since we now have a Windows alpha out.
