hi there,

this is a "trivial" patch that allows to use yahoo
chatrooms of different countries. you will find a new
option string in your yahoo account info
where you can enter a chatroom country code.
if you want to use german chatrooms you would enter
"de" there. you can test other 2 letter codes without
breaking the app. usa=us btw.

as far as i remember i sniffed a yahoo session and the
windows client does it my
way. if your way works too, fine. i will still apply my
patch to my rpm version of
gaim because i know it works for me and i dont think that
the yahoo company
will change this part of the protocol soon :) they may
change the dns entries 
which you rely on though...

There's now a FAQ entry documenting how to do this without
your patch. Your patch makes it slightly more obviously, but
still fairly ugly imo. Not that the current way is any
better, but i just don't consider this significently better.
Plus we have too many options for Yahoo anyway. I would like
to see this done better though.

Interesting. Someone already told me you could do the same
thing by prepending the country code as a subdomain to the
url. like http://de.insider.msg.yahoo.com/ycontent/ I
believe. I have a whole list of them.
Odd that there's two different ways to do this. Well then
again, this is yahoo we're talking about.
