I've pasted here in case it may helpd someone else. 1. cd to your favourite download directory (lets say, ~clytie/downloads) $ cd ~clytie/downloads 2. We need to login to the cvs server. When prompted for a password, hit enter, as there is no password on the public anonymous server. $ cvs -z3 -d:pserver:ano...@cv...:/cvsroot/gaim login 3. Start the cvs checkout. In this example, we will checkout the remote CVS to the directory gaim-1cvs (using the second -d option), resulting in the source being transferred to ~clytie/downloads/gaim-1cvs $ cvs -z3 -d:pserver:ano...@cv...:/cvsroot/gaim checkout -d gaim-1cvs -r oldstatus gaim 4. Change to the source directory and autogen the source (this is the step which I always do, whether it's actually needed or not, I have no idea :-) $ cd gaim-1cvs && ./autogen.sh 5. Change to the directory holding the pot files $ cd po 6. Update the current vi.po so it will contain new blank strings to be translated $ ./update.pl vi 7. I know how to translate the file, I just don't understand your procedures. Pootle (online translation tool) grabbed your gaim template from CVS, I think. I have no experience with CVS and simply translated the file from there. If you can help me understand your procedures, then I can keep the translation current for you. :) Thanks for your response. I simply found it on Pootle (online translation tool): they say they get files from CVS. It was named Gaim-2.2.0, whatever version that might be. What should I do? Is there any introductory information for localizers?
