My initial responce was "no," as I have never heard of this rosetta 
thing before.  on looking at it though, I did find 
https://launchpad.ubuntu.com/rosetta/products/gaim/gaim

so it appears that the correct answer is "maybe."  typically I suggest 
translators check out cvs (directions on the download page on the 
homepage, and some other interesting tidbits in the gaim-i18n list 
archives). and to translate the po there. this gives you access to the 
unreleased changes to the strings right as we string freeze. you 
really don't have to "learn" cvs in any meaningful sense, you'd use 
all of 4 commands, all in rather forumlaic maners.

for instance, with a 1.x release, it would be

cvs -z3 -d ':pserver:ano...@cv...:/cvsroot/gaim' login
(hit enter, there is no password)
cvs -z3 -d ':pserver:ano...@cv...:/cvsroot/gaim' co -r \
oldstatus gaim

cd gaim
open the appropriate file in the po directory. edit said file
cvs -z3 diff > mypatch.diff
post mypatch.diff to the translations tracker
