In the Patch Tracker there are the following SASL patches: Request ID Summary ---------- ------- 1663064 Jabber Cyrus SASL code uses FQDNs incorrectly 1668289 Jabber Cyrus SASL code should have optional passwords These correlate to: gaim-2.0.0beta5-cyrus-fqdn.patch gaim-2.0.0beta5-cyrus-password.patch gaim-2.0.0beta5-cyrus-sasl-hang.patch (belongs to another bug) We have tested all three patches here with a group of a dozen people and the patches work as advertised and we would very much appreciate the patches being accepted into gaim. It would be great if they made it in before the 2.0 release. Without the first patch gaim GSSAPI/Kerberos authentication won't work with many Kerberos+Jabber installations out there. Note that both jabberd2cvs and Wildfire support GSSAPI/Kerberos authentication. The second patch addresses makes gaim work sanely and not pop up a confusing password dialog box if SASL is able to authenticate via another method (such as GSSAPI/Kerberos). The third patch fixes a hang. Thanks, Dax Kelson Guru Labs |
