Well, I've known about this for several years, anyways, and did mention it before. I think the consensus was 'smileys suck, anyway' Scratching around my memory, so I'm probably wrong, I seem to recall it being said once something along the lines that each smiley creates a new anim within the gtk window, instead of re-using an previously created one... or something along those lines. As I say, my memory is hazy on this as it was several years ago I discussed it. This was also with regards to Yahoo smilies, and not MSN - so may not be related at all.
