You should have tried a Screen name of jasonspiro4 and a Server of gmail.com. You would have to change nothing else (if I am remembering correctly) to get connected to Google Talk. I don't know how other Google-hosted mail domains are set up, but I strongly suspect that if the proper SRV records are in place, they would work the same way.
